# Where to start, by role

**Who this is for:** Everyone

New to Blend-ed? Here’s where to begin.

## Super Admins and Admins setting up a platform
Work through these in order:

1. Switch on the features you need. See [How to turn platform features on and off](/product/platform-setup/how-to-turn-platform-features-on-and-off/).
2. Add your branding. See [How to upload your logo and favicon](/product/platform-setup/how-to-upload-your-logo-and-favicon/) and [How to set your brand colour](/product/platform-setup/how-to-set-your-brand-colour/).
3. Connect a payment gateway, if you’ll sell courses. See [How to connect a payment gateway](/product/platform-setup/how-to-connect-a-payment-gateway/).
4. Invite your staff and set their permissions. See [How to invite a user via email](/product/users-roles-and-teams/how-to-invite-a-user-via-email/) and [How to edit a staff member’s permissions](/product/users-roles-and-teams/how-to-edit-a-staff-member-s-permissions/).
5. Create your first course. See [How to Create a Course (Manual)](/product/course-creation/how-to-create-a-course-manual/) or [How to Create a Course with AI Studio](/product/course-creation/how-to-create-a-course-with-ai-studio/).
6. Publish it and enrol learners. See [How to publish a course](/product/enrollment-and-publishing/how-to-publish-a-course/) and [How to enrol learners into a course](/product/enrollment-and-publishing/how-to-enrol-learners-into-a-course/).

Tip: Set up Features first. Feature toggles decide which parts of the platform exist, so other settings may be missing until the right features are on.

## Course authors
1. Understand how a course is structured. See [Understanding Course Structure (Studio Basics)](/product/course-creation/understanding-course-structure-studio-basics/).
2. Create a course. See [How to Create a Course (Manual)](/product/course-creation/how-to-create-a-course-manual/) or [How to Create a Course with AI Studio](/product/course-creation/how-to-create-a-course-with-ai-studio/).
3. Add content. See [Adding Content Components](/product/course-creation/adding-content-components/).
4. Set up grading and certificates. See [Setting Up Grading](/product/course-creation/setting-up-grading/) and [Adding a Certificate to Your Course](/product/course-creation/adding-a-certificate-to-your-course/).
5. Preview it as a learner. See [How to switch between admin and learner views](/product/getting-started/how-to-switch-between-admin-and-learner-views/).

## Staff running reports
1. Learn what each report shows. See [General overview: Reporting & Analytics](/product/reporting-and-analytics/).
2. Check who needs support. See [How to use the Learners report](/product/reporting-and-analytics/how-to-use-the-learners-report/).

## Learners
1. Set up your account. See [How to accept your invitation and set up your account](/product/getting-started/how-to-accept-your-invitation-and-set-up-your-account/).
2. Get to know your Dashboard. See [Getting around the learner view](/product/getting-started/getting-around-the-learner-view/).
3. Find a course. See [How learners find and enrol in a course](/product/enrollment-and-publishing/how-learners-find-and-enrol-in-a-course/).
4. Start learning. See [How to work through a lesson](/product/learning-experience/how-to-work-through-a-lesson/).
